VASOGEN CREAM
Please read the following information carefully before you use Vasogen. If there is anything you do not understand, ask your doctor, pharmacist (chemist), midwife or health visitor to explain it to you.
What is in Vasogen?
Vasogen is a medicinal barrier cream. It contains the active ingredients: Dimethicone (20% w/w), Zinc Oxide (7.5% w/w) and Calamine (1.5% w/w) which will soothe the skin and protect from irritation. It also contains the following inactive ingredients which help to preserve and form the cream: Aluminium Hydroxide, Lanolin, Methylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Methyl (E218), Ethyl (E214), Butyl, Propyl (E216) and Isobutyl Parahydroxybenzoates and Purified Water. Vasogen comes in tubes of 50g or 100g.
What is Vasogen for?
Vasogen is a water repellent barrier cream for use on the skin. It is used to prevent and treat nappy rash and bedsores. It may also be used for local protection of the skin around the stoma after ileostomy and colostomy. If you are not sure whether Vasogen is suitable for you, ask your doctor or pharmacist (chemist).
Before using Vasogen
- Are you allergic to any of the ingredients listed?
- Is the affected area weeping?
If the answer is YES to either of these questions, do not use the product but ask your doctor or pharmacist (chemist) for advice.
Using Vasogen
- Rub gently on to the skin and leave to dry. Repeat if required. Use as often as necessary and especially after changing nappies.
- If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
- Do not eat or allow children to eat this cream.
After using Vasogen
Vasogen is designed to be safe on almost all skins and most people find using Vasogen causes no problems. However, if you notice any unusual discomfort or reddening you don't understand, tell your doctor or pharmacist (chemist) as soon as possible.
Storing Vasogen
- Do not use after the expiry date shown on the carton.
- Do not store above 25°C.
